    Design: Makoto Koizumi / Japan

As the name implies, DAEN which is the Japanese translation for Ellipse, the structure of this chair is made from elliptical cross-sections.
The legs, arms and backrest are made of the same elliptical wooden form.
The rigorous continuation of the same shape, in this case the ellipse, is fully in line with the Japanese architectural philosophy, in which beams and columns preferably also take the same shape.
The twisted finger joints are the result of this continuous elliptical structure and reflect the craftsmanship of both the designer and manufacturer.
DAEN’s silhouette changes depending on the perspective.
A masterpiece born after 10 years of workshops and research  by the designer Koizumi and the Miyazaki chair factory.
